Breast Surgery Basics

Start your journey treating breast surgery patients with a strong foundation, by learning ethical and evidence-informed methods for therapeutic breast massage.  Thorough anatomical training on the breast, treatment skills for therapeutic breast massage, language for treating sensitive areas, getting informed consent, doing proper draping, charting, assessments, plus techniques useful for acute, subacute and chronic stages of healing from breast and top surgery.   Course is divided 50/50 for theory/practical.  Please note: Foundations is a pre-requisite for Levels 1 & 2.  Please email info@mastectomyguide.com

MG LEVEL ONE
18 Types of Breast Surgery
June 3-4, 2023

Build on what you learned in the MG Foundations by now understanding exactly what is happening under the skin during 18 different types of breast surgery.  You’ll learn about 13 breast cancer surgeries including 3 types of mastectomy, lumpectomy, autologous and non-autologous reconstruction options and flat closures.  You’ll learn 2 gender affirming top surgeries and 3 elective breast surgeries.  Course utilizes extensive surgical images and videos for evidence-informed learning.  Course is divided 60/40 for theory/practical.  Please note: Level 1 is a pre-requisite for Level 2.

MG LEVEL TWO
Post-op Complications
June 6-7, 2023
9:30am-6:30pm

Knowing what’s happening under the skin is only half the “battle”; it’s also critical to know what happens when things get complicated, or go “wrong”.  Learning the top 11 post-op complications such as chording, capsular contracture, necrosis, seroma, hematoma, breast implant illness and more. You will learn exactly what you can/cannot treat, and the ability to reason your way through presentations that are new to you.  Course is filled with imagery of real people with complications.  All material is evidence-informed and relevant to your clinical practice.  Course is divided 60/40 theory/practical.
