Project Description

EMPOWERING Patients through Homecare

with Leila Stuart, BA, LLB, (retired) RMT, Yoga Therapist.
this course is sponsored by Bodhi Tree Teaching Centre however course content, instruction and any related materials are provided by the course provider.

Experiential Anatomy is an embodied learning method combining interoceptive awareness and mindful movement. The practices promote positive neuroplastic changes and foster whole person healing and integration. By practising self-inquiry during movement, perception and experience can shift in ways that invoke innate capacity for self-healing and motivate patients to integrate homecare awareness and practices into daily activities. Rather than “doing” exercises, patients are inspired to become enthusiastic participants in their own healing process.

With a lifelong passion for movement of all types and decades of experience as an RMT (retired), yoga teacher and therapist (C-IAYT), Leila is a pioneer in the field of embodied movement education. She opened one of the first dedicated Yoga Therapy studios in Canada and taught an innovative 300-hour Yoga Therapy training focused on experiential anatomy, somatic repatterning and embodiment of the deeper teachings of yoga as pathways to whole person healing. Drawing on her deep love and intuitive knowledge of experiential anatomy, Leila specializes in transforming academic information into somatic awareness and life-changing experiences. She is the author of Pathways to a Centered Body with Donna Farhi and Experiential Anatomy, Therapeutic Applications of Embodied Movement and Awareness. Leila lives near Vancouver, BC and teaches online and in person in Canada and internationally.
