Project Description

COURSES INFORMATION

Each course fee is $550 (Including applicable GST)

The Biodynamic Myofascial Mobilization courses take the manual therapist through a particular region addressing all tissue types within the area of focus using fascial principles & approaches to maximize the patient’s long-term resolve. Tissue types considered in each region are osseous, ligamentous, tendinous, muscular, joint, viscera plus more, and are approached using myofascial release techniques, visceral manipulation or craniosacral therapy if indicated. Discussion around integrating these techniques is always a part of each course & we encourage those attending to be open to new experiences & ideas.

**For license manual therapists only

The Cervical Region
October 18-19, 2019 9:30am – 5:30pm

– 14 credits

As in the other integrative courses, we teach techniques for the Osseous, Ligamentous, Muscular & Visceral components of the cervical region. We explore the relationships between each and common complaints & dysfunction of the region and it’s relationship to the rest of the body.  Particular attention is paid to the Investing Fascia of the cervical spine, the Atlanto-Axial joint space, the Esophagus & the upper ribs.  The visceral component is primarily discussed or demonstrated as it is too involved for a 2-day course to fully cover.

The Lumbo-sacral Region
May 1-2, 2020
Friday/Saturday
9:30am – 5:30pm

– 14 credits as per the CMTBC

The pelvis doesn’t have to be so complicated!!!  This workshop is designed to demystify the pelvis by treating it three dimensionally through the osseous structures (ilia, ischia, pubis), ligaments (sacrotuberous, inguinal, iliolumbar), myofascia and viscera (colon, bladder, uterus) related to each other and the body globally.  The visceral component is primarily discussed or demonstrated as it is too involved for a 2-day course to fully cover.

The Thorax
May 24-25, 2020
Sunday/Monday
9:30am – 5:30pm each day

– 14 credits as per the CMTBC

Using techniques for the Osseous, Ligamentous, Muscular & Visceral components for the thorax, we explore the relationships between each and common complaints & dysfunction of the region and it’s relationship to the rest of the body. Special attention is paid to the pleura of the lungs & their suspensory ligaments, esophagus, the rib cage & it’s articulations, the manubrio-sternum relationship, clavicles, Rib 1 & 2, the scalenes & subclavius muscles as well as the mediastinal tissue.  The visceral component is primarily discussed or demonstrated as it is too involved for a 2-day course to fully cover.

The Cervical Region 2020
October 2-3, 2020 9:30am – 5:30pm
Friday/Saturday

– 14 credits

As in the other integrative courses, we teach techniques for the Osseous, Ligamentous, Muscular & Visceral components of the cervical region. We explore the relationships between each and common complaints & dysfunction of the region and it’s relationship to the rest of the body.  Particular attention is paid to the Investing Fascia of the cervical spine, the Atlanto-Axial joint space, the Esophagus & the upper ribs.  The visceral component is primarily discussed or demonstrated as it is too involved for a 2-day course to fully cover.

The Extremities
November 18-19, 2020
Sunday/Monday
9:30am – 5:30pm

– 14 credits as per the CMTBC

A 3-dimensional approach to the limbs!!!  As we delve into the myofascia of the upper and lower extremities, we cannot ignore the frame work from which they originate.  Structures such as the clavicle, clavipectoral fascia & the subclavius muscle are examples of tissues/structures addressed in relationship to the upper extremity.  Pelvic alignment plays a very important role in the stability & strength of the legs.  Joint techniques, osseous loading, inter-osseous membranes are an integral connection to the myofascia of both upper and lower extremity.  The therapist is sure to ‘see’ the limbs in a new light through this approach.
